Bravo! show attendees get Carbon Credits from SCA
Here’s our press release for the Bravo! show in Portland, Oregon.
Sustainable Catering Association Helps Meeting Planners Go Green with Carbon Offsets at Bravo! Event
Portland, Ore. – (October 28, 2008) – Meeting Planners and other event planners attending the Bravo! show now have the option of going green by offsetting their carbon emissions for their travel to the show.
In an agreement with The Sustainable Catering Association, the Bonneville Environmental Foundation is offering carbon offsets (known as Green Tags) for attendees of the Bravo! show. Those attending the show will state the number of miles traveled to the show and carbon offsets will be provided thru the Association courtesy of the Association’s major sponsor, Crave Catering of Portland.
Executive Director of The Sustainable Catering Association, Shirley de Rose, states “We are happy to help meeting planners and others at the Bravo! show to ‘go green’ by providing the opportunity to offset their travel. Individually this may not seem like a big contribution, but the total of carbon offsets generated by the people attending the show will be significant. The Sustainable Catering Association was established to impact all areas of catering including travel, so the offsets thru the Bonneville Environmental Foundation are a significant contribution to our stated goals of sustainability in the catering industry.”
